CW Singers California 2020 Choir Tour

Singing Everlastingly

California 2020 Charles Wesley Singers Summer Youth Mission Tour

Youth Tour Participation Intent

Parent-Family Interest Letter Tour 2020

The Charles Wesley Singers of Damascus United Methodist Church are touring California from June 23 to July 1, 2020. Our tour theme is Singing Everlastingly, and we intend to share a concert featuring songs we lift up to God, culminating in Charles H.H. Parry’s Blest Pair of Sirens. Love offerings received during concert are given to causes of the host church’s choosing or missions through the United Methodist Committee on Relief. Last year we collected more than $4,000 from tour offerings.

We will give daily concerts and continue our spontaneous singing appearances in order to reach and encourage broad concert audiences. Plans are coming together for host churches, and we anticipate concerts most nights of tour and other special events like a day at Yosemite National Park, souvenir shopping opportunities, and sightseeing at landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Newport Beach and the Walk of Stars.

CWS Tour update (11/14/2019)

I'm happy to announce that tour planning has been officially underway, and California will be our destination for 2020! We will arrive in San Diego on June 23rd, work our way up the coast as far north as San Francisco, and return to BWI on July 1st. Our homecoming concert is on July 2nd at 7pm.

We've even booked our first performance venue: St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in downtown San Diego. Martin Green, the Canon for music, is very excited for our youth to join forces with his cathedral choristers in a couple of our pieces during our concert there. We will also spend a Sunday day and overnight at Yosemite National Park with a sunset service among the mountains and waterfalls.

Tour forms are available now and are due ASAP, along with a deposit due December 15th. Please see me to pick up one.

Blessings,
