Family Ministries Free Movie Nights at DUMC
Are you interested in seeing free movies that are both Christian based and inspirational? Danny and Wanda Miante are hosting a movie to be shown at DUMC about once a month. We will begin this journey on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 7pm with the movie "Soul Surfer". This inspiring film dramatizes the real-life story of Bethany Hamilton, a Hawaiian teen who bravely returns to competitive surfing after losing her left arm in a shark attack. The movie is rated PG. The Dove Organization rates the film Family Approved, and suitable for all ages. We will have a brief intermission at the mid-point of the movie (106 minutes). The movie will be shown in the Great Hall. Please feel free to bring your own refreshments and a comfortable lawn chair.
The Family Ministry group at DUMC hosts a number of activities for families and children during the year:
- Advent Workshop, which is scheduled for the Sunday before Thanksgiving, 1 to 3 pm with a child friendly meal served at 12:30 pm for a small fee.
- Easter Egg Hunt, which is held on Easter morning during the Sunday School hour.
- Family Picnic, which is held on the day of the Girl and Boy Choristers spring musical performance
